Study “Injection Charges” published

The Netherlands are planning to introduce injection charges in order to pass on some of the costs of offshore grid connections to other countries. In a joint <a href="https://consentec.de/publikation/injection-charges/">study</a> with Neon Neue Energieökonomik on behalf of TenneT, we investigate whether this can be achieved. Our results show that unilateral injection charges - i.e. without European coordination – will likely lead to market distortions. Selective charges for offshore wind are only suitable for refinancing the associated grid costs only under specific conditions.
