Holiday Greetings from Consentec 2025
| If we had to sum up the energy policy debates of 2025 in a single word, it would probably be “system costs”. While there is broad agreement that we must decarbonise our energy system quickly, it is equally clear that this transformation is a major challenge. It will only succeed if we keep a strict eye on cost efficiency. This applies to how we support the expansion of renewable energies and coordinate it with grid development, to the urgently needed addition of firm capacity to safeguard security of supply, and to the integration of new flexible consumers and storage technologies into the system. Also with regard to grids, appropriate incentives for grid planning and expansion as well as for grid usage are required. We are pleased that we were once again able this year to support our clients on all of these issues and many others. Through this work, and through numerous specialist publications and contributions to the public debate, we have been able to play an active part in making the energy transition a success.
To ensure that we can continue to provide this support in the best possible way, we have once again strengthened our team in several areas over the past year. Everyone at Consentec is looking forward to continuing to support you in the coming year with science-based, fact-driven advice on energy economics and energy technology – and also simply to discussing with you how we can work together to make the energy system as efficient, sustainable and secure as possible. |
With this in mind, the entire Consentec team warmly wishes a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026. |
